How to iron on patches in 5 minutes or less easy

Appliques and embroidered patches can be ironed on almost anything,  you can iron on shirts, jeans, camo jackets, hats, blouses, pants, skirts, even on your backpack or totes! This will be the best time to be creative, With an iron on patch you can create a new look instantly. It’s very easy! Place the patch on the piece of clothing to get an idea of how it will look, and find the best position for the patch.

 

If you have multiple patches, you should pin them exactly where you want them before ironing them on. You don’t want to get to the last few patches and realize you don’t have enough space. Heat seal to polyester/cotton fabrics. Do not apply to rain wear (waterproof), highly elastic, rayon, nylon or tree-acetate fabrics. Once applied, applique is permanently attached to garment and is washable, dry-able and dry cleanable. For machine washing, turn garment inside-out before washing and drying.

What you’ll need: IRON,CLOTH,PATCH

  1. Make sure your iron is on high, Place Sequin patch where you desire it to be on garment.
  2. Pin the sequin patch for a secure hold and cover it with a sheet or towel, Make sure you do not iron the sequin side, it will melt!!! Very important!!
  3. Press the iron firmly on top of the covered sequin patch and use the steam function for better results while adding pressure,
  4. Keep the iron on the covered sequin patch for at least 60 seconds and go around the corners with the iron to make sure it’s completely sealed.
HOW TO IRON ON HEAT TRANSFERS:
PLEASE COVER HEAT TRANSFER WITH A CLOTH, TEFLON BEFORE IRONING IT ON!!! we will update the video soon. Thanks

For household irons:

  1. Cover with Telfon sheet
  2. Put iron on the highest setting with steam off 
  3. Iron all over applying pressure until enough heat is applied.
  4. let it cool for 30-45 seconds and peel slowly.
  5. If you notice transfer is not adhering lay it back and add more heat, let it cool and then peel slowly.

Please note most issues arise from not applying enough heat and pressure 

For Heat press

  1. High pressure 
  2. Temperature 350-360 for 20 seconds
  3. let it cool for 30-45 seconds and peel slowly.
  4. If you notice transfer is not adhering lay it back and add more heat, let it cool and then peel slowly.

Please note different heat presses require different settings as far as pressure, and some heat press dont apply heat evenly,

Hand sew

Sewing is the most permanent when putting embroidered patches onto your clothing. Sewing can be easy as long as you know how to use a needle, thread, scissors, and a straight pin.

Machine sew

If you have a sewing machine, it can be much more efficient, especially if you know how to use it and are sewing many patches.

  1. I purchased the rhinestone smiley face patches and have been pressing it onto a sweatshirt but it is not sticking well at all. I would like to get some direction as to how This will stay on the fabric. please advise thank you
